Festivities will be offered in the form of a brass band, face painting and food vendors offering refreshments and free samples. Harvard Film Archive presents Rodrigo D.: No Future (Rodrigo D. no futuro) by Director Victor Gaviria about a character who, in the midst of poverty, abandons his dreams of becoming a drummer in a punk band and turns to a life of violent crime. This film is noted for Gaviria's skillful blend of realism with other styles and for the use of music to show a contrast of happiness in the life of Rodrigo D. Rodrigo D.: No Future was the first film directed by Gaviria, who will make a special appearance at the screening on May 9th.
